Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement(JKSM) staged a distinctive sit-in protest at press enclave Srinager on Saturday


18th April 2009:Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement(JKSM) staged a distinctive sit-in protest at press enclave Srinager on Saturday -wearing white clothes and displaying Indian sham democracy with no justice. Chairman JKSM Zaffar Akber Bhat while briefing to media said that more than 40,000 released pro-freedom people ,who have trodden the peaceful political method are being continuously harassed at the hands of various security agencies of India in Kashmir. The democratic possessions available with India are being applied to hoodwink the world community over Kashmir and the objective behind this is to seek the temporization nudge for the vexed issue, Zaffar Said. Chairman JKSM maintained that the tools of democracy in India and Pakistan must be tendered for the result oriented dialogue process to seek a durable solution of Kashmir , respecting the wishes and aspirations of common Kashmiris . Salvation Movement urged for the transfer of all the TADA cases of Jammu to Srinager to avail the benefits from justice delivery system. Zaffar Akber Bhat cautioned that if relatives released Pro-freedom leaders and activists are not granted travel documents for Hajj Pilgrimage or coerced again will then generate a new phase of violence for which India shall be solely responsible . Latter on a heavy contingent of Police belonging to Kotibagh police station arrested Zaffar Akber Bhat along with dozens of party workers.

Salvation Movement welcomes Obama’s Statement


Senior Hurriyat Leader and Chairman Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement in a statement has welcomed the statement of Barrak Hussain Obama who has urged the two nuclear neighboring countries of the sub-continent(India-Pakistan) for resuming the comprehensive dialogue on the core issue ,i.e. Kashmir . Since Kashmir tangle being the bone of contention between Pakistan and India , which has hampered the process of development and progress in the region , if Kashmir issue is solved as per the wishes of common populace of Jammu Kashmir , then a new epoch of prosperity based improvement will start in South Asia, Zaffar Said. On Friday as a part of Hurriyt’s mass mobilization budge , Chairman Salvation Movement Zaffar Akber Bhat on Friday delivered a lecture at Chadoora to the party workers and stressed upon them to expedite the process of people to people contact and enlighten the common masses about the policies of All Parties Hurriyat Conference , which is the only reliance conglomerate -safeguarding the sentiments of Kashmiris. Meanwhile Salvation Movement paid rich tributes to Sheed Ibad-Ullah , Shaheed Zubair –Ul – Islam of Moschwa and Shaheed Khalid Umer of Chaddora Kralpora on their 16th Martyrdom and has strongly condemned the house arrest of septuagenarian Pro-freedom leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani .

JKSM felicitates APHC's acting Convener


The senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter and Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) Altaf Bhat and Commander Almas Rizwan congratulated the newly elected acting Convener of APHC(M) Mahmood Ahmad Sagar, says a press release issued here on Tuesday.
Altaf Bhat said Mahmood Ahmad Sagar has rendered matchless sacrifices to promote Kashmir cause and after assuming the office of Convener he will try his level best to motivate the world community for the permanent and durable solution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
Altaf Bhat said all the constituents of APHC are determent to support Convener Mahmood Sagar for highlighting Kashmir dispute that is potential threat to the world peace. He assured full support to the Convener while making this forum more vibrant.
On the same occasion Altaf Bhat and Almas Rizwan hailed the services of former Convener Syed Yousaf Naseem while strengthening the amalgam and making it result-oriented for the greater interest of the ongoing Kashmir struggle.
Born on March 11, 1958 in Srinagar, Saghar has played a key role during the ongoing struggle. For his political beliefs, he had to go through torments and tribulations since he was a student. He has spent 13 years in different jails across India.
He was the first ever convener of the APHC-Pak chapter when the alliance was established in 1993 and presently he is the top runner for the slot, election for which are scheduled to be held within two weeks.
