Condemned harassment of prisoners in Indian and State Jails
Srinagar, November 22:
Senior APHC leader and Jammu Kashmir salvation movement chairman Zaffar Akber Bhat along with JKLF(H) Javed Ahmad Mir and KFF Syed Bashir Indrabi today visited Dhalwan Pulwama under APHC’s mass contact program and protest against the harassment against the prisoners and their relatives on the eve of meetings between them.Shafi Kashmir,Beigh Aijaz,Firdous Ahmed,Muzaffer malik,Mehraj u din also accompanied leaders.
Addressing the demonstrators in the area after Friday Prayers leaders condemned harassment of prisoners and their relatives in and outside jails. They expressed solidarity with Jail intimates and said that the sacrifices’ laid down by prisoners can’t be underestimated.
Leaders said that jail authorities in Indian as well as in state jails are violating its prescribed norms by harnessing them especially female ones in Tihar, Jodpur and Kotbalwal Jails.
Expressing solidarity with them, they said that prisoners have played and are playing a key role in ongoing freedom movement; hence people of the Jammu and Kashmir should support pro-freedom leadership so that the ongoing movement can be taken to logical conclusion. He appealed not to get deceived by the hallow slogans of main stream politicians as the elections were not substitute to Kashmir resolution.
Leaders appealed common masses to observe 10th December –Human rights day and convey to world the present situation of the state, were on each passing day Indian troops continue to violate human rights of Kashmiri people.
Zaffar Akber Bhat said that it is high time for India to leave rigidity which creates hurdles in resolving decades old Kashmir issue. they maintained that instead of showing their ridiculousness Indian should come forward along with the confidence building measures, including revocation of black laws, demilitarization of the state, unconditional release of political detainees, through which conducive atmosphere for result oriented dialogue can be achieved. APHC leaders said it is because of Kashmir issue uncertainty in whole south Asian region prevails. So as to end the uncertainty both countries should show seriousness in resolving Kashmir issue.
APHC leaders also paid glowing tributes to martyrs of the area and plead common masses to safe guard the mission of martyrs. They said that APHC is committed to take mission of the martyrs to its logical conclusion
