Police highhandedness in Dooru
Srinagar, July 28: The All Pharmaceutical and Drug Sellers Association Dooru Shahabad in Islamabad has shutdown today to protest against the police high handedness in the town and beating up of a medical practitioner.
Thieves broke into the private medical practioner Ejaz Ahmad Wani of Nadoora shop and stole cash and medicines worth Rs 11,000 while he was away to offer Friday prayers. Police later arrested Javaid Ahmad Wagay of Hiller Shahabad who admitted the crime. However, he was released on unknown grounds on which Wani interfered, but was ruthlessly thrashed by police, said locals. He was shifted to District hospital Islamabad in a critical condition.
The PDSA while observe a complete shutdown demanded replacement of the all the cops posted in police station Dooru.

The Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Zaffar Akbar Bhat profound grief and sorrow over the demise of the mother of prominent pro-movement leader Javaid Ahmad Shalla.
Meanwhile, Zaffar visited the residence of deceased at Baghat Barzullah and sympathized with the bereaved family.
Zaffar also visited the residence of Asrar Mushtaq Dar who was mysteriously murdered .He expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and demanded probe into murder and exemplary punishment to murderers.
Zaffar Akbar Bhat has also condoled the desmises of Hidayat Ullah Banday and Ali Mohhammad Khan of Baghi Mehtab and Ghulam nagar respectively .He expressed the grive over the demise of Fatima Beigh of Chanapora and sympathized with the bereaved family.

- Srinagar, July 12: The All Parties Hurriyet Conference senior leaders including Zaffar Akbar Bhat and Bilal Ghani Lone were arrested today, in Srinagar and Kupwara districts, four days after APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was put under house arrest on the eve of the Martyrs Day.
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement and APHC leader, Zaffar Akbar Bhat was detained along with other JKMS workers at Lal Nagar on the outskirts of the city, while Chairman of People's Conference and hurriyat leader, Bilal Gani Lone, was taken into custody at Handwara.
Another Hurriyet leader, Ghulam Mohammad Hubbi was also placed under house arrest at his Chrar-e-Sharief residence in Budgam, the sources said. The latest restrictions on the movement of Hurriyet leaders were taken to thwart Lal Chowk March tomorrow, the police sources said.
"We will not be cowed down by the restrictions. Inshallah; we will assemble at the martyr's graveyard at 11 AM and later take out a peaceful march to Lal Chowk as per the already announced schedule," APHC spokesman told media men in Srinagar.
July 13 is observed in Kashmir as Martyrs Day to commemorate the martyrdom of 13 Kashmiris who fell to the bullets of the then maharaja's forces outside Srinagar Central jail on the day in 1931.

Zaffar lambasts on the role of occupation authorities in Kashmir
“Now honor of Kashmiris is at stakes and naïve people cannot put up with the antipathy whose orchestration is designed in New Delhi as a part of psychological warfare ,” Akbar adds, “The partial appointment of youth through the recruitment agencies like SSRB ,PSC and others : who are having Jammu tilt and it seems that Dogra Raj is still ubiquitous in Kashmir and so- called authorities are guided by Jammu Dogras having communal mindset ,JKSM urges educated youth to rise up on the occasion and protest democratically and peacefully.”
He reiterated that JKSM is never against any dialogue but it should be meaningful respecting the sentiments of common people of Jammu Kashmir because they are the first causality to the dispute .
Zaffar Akber Bhat maintained all the detainees who are languishing in different jails of India and Kashmir must be release unconditionally .
