The salvation movement constituent of APHC, Today on 31 December 2009, organized a peaceful unique protest in partap park Srinagar. The aim and objective of the peaceful function was to highlight the sufferings of kashmiries besides inviting the attention of peace lover human rights organizations and the respected H.R. activists at international level.
The chairman, Mr.ZAFFAR AKBER BHAT represented the continuing arrests, detentions, raids, custodial killings, tortures. Molestation and fear and agony posed a “BEHIND THE BARS SIT-IN’’ along with his associates, in presence of the prominent print and electronic media functionaries.
The chairman, highlighting the most sensitive issue of MASS GRAVES, use of force, detention under Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Public Safety act (PSA), addressed the peace loving international communities stressing for their earliest effective role for honorable and respectable everlasting settlement of Kashmir issue. The chairman further raised the issues of the harassment and thrashing of print and electronic media persons by security forces, Para military forces during their professional journalistic duties. It was at this point of time that the police and their other related agencies arrested the chairman, Mr Zaffar Akber Bhat along with dozens of organizational activists and seized the all available materials like play cards, cage etc from the site.
The organization condemns the arrest of Zaffar Akber Bhat and on the spot forcible action against the activits of the organization and the participants of the protest.

حریت کانفرنس کے سینئر رہنما و چیئر مین جموں کشمیرسالویشن موومنٹ ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کشمیر سے 30 ہزار فوجی نکالنے کے بھارتی اقدام کو لفظی اور بناوٹی اقدام قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ جب تک بھارت ریاست جموں و کشمیر سے مکمل فوجی انخلا ءعمل میں نہیں لاتااور مذاکراتی عمل میں کشمیریوں کو بطور بنیادی فریق شامل نہیں کرتا تب تک مذاکرات نتیجہ خیز ثابت نہیہونگے
۔ان خیالات کا اظہار انہوں نے منگل کے روز سالویشن موومنٹ کی جاری عوامی رابطہ مہم کے دوران تحصیل چاڑورہ کے علاقہ چھترگام، واگورہ، سنز گام، گاندری پورہ کے دورہ کے موقع پر کارنر میٹنگز سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا۔ کارنر میٹنگز میں سالویشن موومنٹ کے کارکنوں کے علاوہ بڑی تعداد میں لوگوں نے شرکت کی۔ ظفر اکبر بٹ نے تحریک آزادی میںشہید ہونے والے افراد کے لواحقین اور بیواو¿ں سے بھر پور یکجہتی اور ہمدردی کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے شہداءکے مشن کو آگے بڑھانے کا عزم دہرایا۔ظفر اکبر بٹ نے مختلف اجتماعات سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے اس بات پر زوردیا ہے کہ ہمیں بھارت کی چالبازی سے با خبر رہتے ہوئے آپسی روابط کو مزید مستحکم اور مضبوط بنانے ہونگے، چانکیہ کے پیروکار چانکیائی سیاست پر عمل کرتے ہوئے کشمیری عوام اور حریت قیادت میں پھوٹ ڈالنے کی ہر ممکن کوشش کررہی ہے ، وقت کا تقاضہ ہے کہ لاکھوں شہیدوں کے امین کشمیری عوام اپنی قیادت پر بھر پور اعتماد کا اظہار کریںاور حریت کے پروگرامات کو پہلے سے بھی زیادہ کامیاب بناکر بھارت کو یہ پیغام دیں کہ کشمیریوں کی اصل قیادت حریت رہنما ہی ہے۔

شہداءکشمیر نے بھارتی غلامی سے نجات حاصل کرنے اور کشمیریوں کو ان کا بنیادی حق حق خود ارادیت دلانے کےلئے اپنی جانوں کی قربانیاں پیش کیں۔ شہداءکے خون کو کسی بھی صورت میں رائیگان نہیں ہونے دیا جائے گا۔ ان خیالات کا اظہار سینئر حریت رہنما وجموں کشمیر سالویشن موومنٹ کے سربراہ ظفر اکبر بٹ نے پیر کے روز شہید منظور احمد نمتہالی، شہید عبدالرشیدپورواری ، فاروق احمد نمتہالی ، شہید محمد مقبول بچرو، زخمی شیر لال گام،محمد یونس زھل اورشہید ناصر احمد رانگر کی 17 ویں برسی کے موقع پر دعائیہ تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا۔
شہداءکی برسی کی تقریب گزشتہ روز سالویشن موومنٹ کے مرکزی دفتر راجباغ سری نگر میں منعقد ہوئی جس میں تنظیم کے مرکزی رہنماو¿ں اور کارکنوں نے بھر پور شرکت کی۔ شرکاءنے شہداءکے مشن کوپائیہ تکمیل تک پہنچانے کا اعادہ کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ شہداءکشمیر نے جس مقصد کےلئے اپنی جانوں کی قربانیاں دی ہیں اس مقصد کو حاصل کئے بغیر چین سے نہیں بیٹھیں گے۔ اس موقع پر ظفر اکبر بٹ نے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ شہید منظور احمد نمتہالی انتہائی باصلاحیت اور مستعد شخصیت تھے۔ شہیدنے جماعت اسلامی اور تحریک آزادی کےلئے گراں قدر خدمات انجام دی ہیں۔ انہوں نے جماعت اسلامی کے پلیٹ فارم سے کشمیری عوام کے جذبہ آزادی کو اجاگر کیااور کشمیریوں کی آزادی کےلئے اپنی جان نچھاور کی۔ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کہا کہ شہید منظور احمد نمتہالی جیسے شہداءکے خون کی وجہ سے ہی تحر یک آزادی کشمیر کا چراغ پوری دنیا میں روشن ہوا اور ہم ان شہدا کے مشن کو پائیہ تکمیل تک پہچانے کےلئے ان کے نقش قدم پر چل کر اپنے خون سے اس چراغ کو روشن رکھیں گے۔سالویشن موومنٹ کے سربراہ نے قصبہ سوپور میں بھارتی فوجی اہلکاروں کے ہاتھوں بے گناہ شہریوں پر ظلم و تشدد کی شدید مذمت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ بھارت ظلم و تشدد اور منفی ہتھکنڈوں سے کشمیری عوام کی آوازنہیں دبا سکتا۔کشمیری عوام گزشتہ دو دہائیوں سے اپنے بنیادی حق کی پاداش میں ظلم و تشدد سہہ رہے ہیں لیکن اس کے باوجود ان کے حوصلے اور جذبہ آزادی ماند نہیں پڑا۔ انہوں نے لوکل نیوز چینلز پر پابندی کی بھی مذمت کی اور کہا کہ بھارتی حکومت کشمیر میں اپنے سیاہ کارنامے چھپانے کےلئے ایسے اقدامات کررہی ہے۔جمہوریت کی دعویدار بھارتی حکومت کی طرف سے ایسے اقدامات جمہوریت کے ماتھے پر بدنما داغ ہے۔انہوں نے مطالبہ کیا کہ لوکل چینلز پر عائدپابندی فوری اٹھائے جائے

JAKAF holds sit-in against hr violations in stringer

The activists of Joint Association of Kashmiri Affected Families(JAKAF) held a silent protest sit-in at Partab Park /Press Colony in Srinagar, today, againstthe practicescustodial disappearances and tortureby the Indian troops,police and paramilitary forces in Kashmir.
The spokesman of the Association, briefing to the media men in Srinagar, said that the purpose of holding of the sit-in was to draw attention of the International Human Rights Organizations towards the custodial disappearances in Kashmir, illegal detention of the pro-liberation leaders, activists and torture against Kashmiri detenues during interrogation process.He said that the Govt of India and its regime are deliberately lingering the issue of disappeared persons to hush up the matter. While expressing dissatisfaction over the judicial system, he emphasized to constitute an Independent Commission to probe the matters pertaining to custodial disappearances and killings etc.
Meanwhile, APHC senior leader, Zaffar Akbar Bhat while addressing the participants of the sit-in, said that India should withdraw its troops, repeal all the Draconian laws and release all the illegally detained pro-freedom leaders and activists before starting meaningful talks to resolve the Kashmir dispute. He also appealed the world community and Human Rights organizations in the fitness of the desired peace and stability of the region, by playing effective role in settling the longest pending dispute of Kashmir.

(JAKAF)کے کارکنوں نے ہاتھوں میں پلے کارڈز اٹھائے سرینگر کے پرتاب پارک / پریس کالونی میںپُر امن خاموش احتجاجی مظاہرہ کیا جس کا مقصد عالمی برادری کی توجہ زیرحراست لاپتہ افراد کے رشتہ داروں کی حالت زار کی طرف مبذول کرانا تھا جیلوں میںلاپتہ اور نظربند اور شہید کئے گئے افراد کے متاثرہ خانددانوںکی تنظیم جوائنٹ ایسو سی ایشن آف کشمیری افیکٹڈ فیملیز کے کارکنوں نے احتجاجی دھرنے میں بینر اور پلے کارڈز اٹھا رکھے تھے
جن پر وہ مطالبہ کررہے تھے کہ جموری ذرایع سے اپنا بنیادی حق ، حق خود ارادیت مانگنا اگر کوئی جرم نہیں ہے تو پھر کشمیریوں کا قتل عام کیوں لاپتہ یا گرفتار کر کےPSA) ( کے تحت ریاست کے اندر و باہر پابند سلاسل کیوں۔ ہماری ذی عزت ماں ،بیٹیوں اور بہنوں کو سرکاری فورسز کی طرف سے جنگی ڈھال کیوں ۔ہماری زرخیز زمینوں ،میوہ باغات اور رہائشی جگہوں پر سرکاری فورسز کا ناجائز قبضہ کیوں ۔ انہوںنے بھارت سے مطالبہ کیا کہ بھارت کے پہلے وزیر اعظم پنڈت جواہر لال نہرو کی طرف سے کشمیریوں سے کئے گئے وعدے کی پاسداری کرے۔ انہوںنے عالمی برادری سے اپیل کی کہ وہ بھارتی فوجیوں کے ہاتھوں کشمیریوں کے قتل عام، انہیں جیلوں میں نظربند کرنے اور زیر حراست قتل کے واقعات کا نوٹس لے اور بھارت کو مجبور کیا جائے کہ وہ کشمیریوں پر ظلم و ستم بند کرکے انہیں ان کا بنیادی حق دیا جائے جن کا ان سے وعدہ کیا گیا۔اس موقع پر مقررین نے جن میں حریت رہنماؑ ظفراکبر بٹ بھی شامل تھے خطاب کرتے ہوئے بھارت سے مطالبہ کیا کہ وہ مسئلہ کشمیر کے دیرینہ حل کیلئے ساز گار ماحول پیدا کرے۔ انہوںنے بھارت پر کشمیر سے فوجی انخلائ، کالے قوانین کا خاتمہ اور تمام سیاسی قیدیوں کو رہا کے مذاکرات کی راہ ہموار کرے جن میں کشمیریوں کی حقیقی قیادت کو بھی شامل کیا جائے کل جماعتی حریت کانفرنس کے رہنما اور سالویشن موومنٹ کے چیئرمین ظفر اکبر بٹ نے صحافیوں کو بتایا کہ مسئلہ کشمیر کا پائیدار حل علاقے سے مکمل فوجی انخلاءمیں مضمر ہے۔
مسئلہ کشمیر ایک سیاسی مسئلہ ہے جسے سیاسی طور حل کرنے کی ضرورت ہے اسلئے پاکستان ،بھارت اور کشمیری عوام کے ما بین مذکراتی عمل کو آگے بڑھا نا بے حد ضروری ہے ۔ حقوق انسانی و بین الاقومی برادری کی یہ اخلاقی ذمہ داری ہے کہ وہ مسئلہ کشمیر کے حل کے حوالے سے اپنا ایک مثبت کردار اداکرے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ موجودہ دور میں حق وانصاف پرمبنی عوامی تحریک کو طاقت کے بل پر ہر گز دبایا نہیں جا سکتا ۔اسلئے ہماری منصفانہ جدو جہد کوحکومت ہندطاقت کے بل پر ہر گز دبا نہیں سکتی۔ مسئلہ کشمیر کے حل کیلئے زمینی سطح پر حالات کو سازگار بنانے کیلئے مندرجہ ذیل اقدامات اٹھانے ضروری ہیں۔(۱) کشمیر سے مکمل طور پر فوری انخلائ(۲) ڈسٹرب ایریا ایکٹ(disturb area act) اور کالے قوانین کو فوری طور پر کالعدم قرار دینا۔(۳) انسانی حقوق کی خلاف ورزیوں کو فوری طور پر بند کرانا اور حقوق انسانی کی بین الاقوامی تنظیموں کو کشمیر آنے کی اجازت۔(۴) عوام کو اپنے جذبات اور احساسات کے اظہار کیلئے پر امن جلسہ و جلوس کی اجازت(۵) تمام سیاسی نظر بندوں کی غیر مشروط رہائی۔ e.mail,jakaf12@gmail.com Phone

۔دریں اثناءجموں کشمیر سالویشن موومنٹ کے مرکزی دفتر راجباغ سری نگر میں تنظیم کے کارکنان کا ایک ہنگامی اجلاس طلب کیا گیا جس میں کشمیر کی موجودہ صورتحال اور حریت کانفرنس کی کارکردگی پرغور و خوض کیا گیا۔ کارکنان نے حریت کانفرنس کی کارگزاری اور جموں کشمیر سالویشن موومنٹ کے چیئرمین ظفر اکبر بٹ پر مکمل اعتماد کا اظہار کیا۔ اس موقع پر ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کارکنان سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ حریت کانفرنس میر واعظ عمر فاروق کی قیادت میں کشمیری عوام کی صحیح معنوں میں ترجمانی کررہی ہے۔اس اجلاس میں 10 دسمبر کو”انسانی حقوق کے تحفظ “کے عالمی دن کوبھر پور طریقے سے منانے کےلئے تمام تر انتظامات کا جائزہ بھی لیا گیا۔ اجلاس میں کل جماعتی حریت کانفرنس کی طرف سے اس روز کشمیر بھر میں بھارتی مظالم اور انسانی حقوق کی خلاف ورزیوں کیخلاف ہڑتال کی کال کو کامیاب بنانے کےلئے غور و خوض کیا گیا۔ تنظیم نے سرینگر کے مرکزی لال چوک میں خاموش مظاہرے اور پر امن جلوسوں کےلئے ضلعی سطح پر کمیٹیاں تشکیل دی گئیں۔ گزشتہ 60 سالوں سے 10 دسمبر کو پوری دنیا میں Human Rights Day کے طور پر منایا جاتا ہے ۔ یاد رہے کہ 1948 ءمیں اقوام متحدہ نے متفقہ طور پر ایک قرار داد منظور کی تھی جس میں اس بات کی یقین دہانی کروائی گئی تھی کہ دنیا میں آباد تمام انسانوں کے بنیادی حقوق کا تحفظ فراہم کیا جائے گا۔ ہر سال اس دن کو دنیا بھر میں جوش و خروش سے منایاجاتا ہے اور اس بات کا اعادہ کیا جاتا ہے کہ انسانی حقوق کو مکمل تحفظ فراہم کیا جائے گا۔ اس سال 10 دسمبر Dignity and Justice for all of us (تحفظ عزت اور انصاف ) کے موضوع کے تحت منایا جارہا ہے۔ ستم ظریفی یہ ہے کہ بھارت اس ڈیکلریشن کا زیر دستخطی ہونے کے باوجود بھی کشمیر میں جس انداز سے انسانی حقوق کی پامالی کررہا ہے اسے ہر ذی روح کانپ اٹھتی ہے۔ بھارت نے ریاست جموں و کشمیر میں گزشتہ دو دہائیوں سے انسانی حقوق کی پامالی کرتے ہوئے ایک لاکھ سے زائد کشمیریوں کو شہید کیا ، ہزاروں افراد کو جیلوں میں جرم بے گناہی کے پاداش میں بند رکھا ہے۔ بھارتی درندہ صفت فوجی اہلکاروں نے سینکڑوں باپردہ خواتین کے ساتھ دست درازی کی۔کشمیریوں کے گھر ، مال یہاں تک کہ باغات بھی بھارتی فوجیوں نے تباہ کئے ہیں۔ظفر اکبر بٹ نے عالمی برادری بالخصوص اقوام متحدہ سے پرزور مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ وہ کشمیر یوں پربھارتی فوجیوں سے طرف سے ڈھائے جانے والے مظالم بند کروانے کےلئے اپنا بھرپور رول ادا کریں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بھارت نے کشمیر میں انسانی حقوق کی پامالیوں کے تمام ریکارڈ توڑ ڈالے مگر انسانی حقوق کے تحفظ کاڈھنڈورہ پیٹنے والی عالمی تنظیمیں پھر بھی خاموش تماشائی بنی بیٹھی ہیں جو انتہائی افسوس ناک عمل ہے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیر ی عوام اقوام متحدہ کی قراردادوں پر عملدارآمد کروانے کے لئے جدوجہد کررہی ہے جو کہ اقوام متحدہ کے چارٹر پر گزشتہ 6دہائیوں سے موجود ہے لیکن بھارت اس عالمی ادارے تسلیم شدہ قراردادوں کو روندتے ہوئے کشمیر پر اپنا جابرانہ قبضہ برقرار رکھنا چاہتاہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ دس دسمبر کو عالمی یوم انسانی حقوق کو بھر پور طریقے سے منایا جائے گا۔

Protest strike against attack on APHC leader, attack condemned, described as abominable

Indian paramilitary forces and police men fired tear gas in main city Srinagar, today, to disperse hundreds of demonstrators protesting a near-fatal attack on senior APHC leader, Fazal Haq Qureshi, by unidentified assailants. He was critically injured near his residence in Soura Srinagar late Friday. The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has called for the shutdown strike in to protest against the assassination attempt on APHC leader, Fazl Haq Qureshi. Demonstrations erupted Saturday in various parts of the Srinagar. Chanting, "We want freedom," the protesters burnt tires and paramilitary forces who swung batons and fired tear gas to disperse them.
People took to the streets in Nowhatta, Gojwara, Rajauri Kadal, Malaratta, Khawaja Bazaar, Saraf Kadal, Soura, Sopore and Islamabad areas, reports said. At least a dozen people were injured in the city. Qureshi underwent a four-hour long operation in Soura Medical Institute and is now on a ventilator for respiratory support. "His operation was conducted last night which continued till 11:30pm and the doctors said he is stable but critical," Tariq Andrabi, a close relative said.
Qureshi is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital under tight security and no one is allowed to meet him except close relatives, Andrabi said. Doctors had said a bullet has pierced his head.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, said the attack would not deter the alliance from carrying forward peace talks, both with India and Pakistan.
"We want to tell those elements (attackers) that Hurriyat will not be threatened by these attacks, we will not pull back, we make a commitment that we will take this issue to its logical conclusion," Mirwaiz said on Saturday.
"There are certain elements within Kashmir who do not want a permanent solution to the problem. They want to continue the uncertainty so that their vested interests are protected. "We have vowed to stand by the sacrifices of the martyrs and work for a peaceful solution to the Kashmir problem by talking to both Pakistan and India," Mirwaiz told reporters outside the hospital where Qureshi is being treated.
The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, talking to media men in Srinagar said that the Kashmiri Hurriyet leadership would not be cowed down by such attacks and the path of self-determination would be perused, come what may.
Those who visited Soura hospital to enquire about the health of Fazl Haq Qureshi included, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Gilani, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, Professor Abdul Ghani Bhat, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Azam Inqilabi, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Yasmeen Raja and Mohammad Yousuf Naqash. They described the attack as an abominable and inhuman act.
The heads of Kashmir Centres in Washington, London and Brussels, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl and Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo, Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, Tufail Altaf Bhat, Raja Shaheen, Mohammad Farooq Rehmani and Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob in their statements condemned the assassination attempt.

جموں کشمیر سالویشن موومنٹ کے چیئر مین ظفر اکبر بٹ نے حریت کانفرنس کے سینئر رہنما فضل الحق قریشی پر قاتلانہ حملے کی شدید مذمت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ اسے بذدلانہ اور غیر انسانی حرکت قرار دیا۔
حریت رہنمافضل الحق قریشی پر نامعلوم مسلح افراد نے جمعہ کی شام کو اس وقت قاتلانہ حملہ کیا جب وہ سرینگر کے علاقہ صورہ میں مسجد سے نمازمغرب کی ادائیگی کے بعد گھرکی طرف واپس جارہے تھے،حملے میں وہ شدید زخمی ہوئے اور انہیں صورہ میڈیکل انسٹی ٹیوٹ میں داخل کیا گیا جہاں ان کی حالت انتہائی نازک بتائی جارہی ہے۔ گزشتہ روز صورہ میڈیکل انسٹی ٹیوٹ میں حریت رہنما ظفر اکبر بٹ نے فضل الحق قریشی کی عیادت کی۔ اس موقع پر انہوں نے حریت رہنما پرقاتلانہ حملے کوتحریک کشمیر اور حریت پر حملہ قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ اس واقعہ میں جس کسی کا بھی ہاتھ ہو وہ تحریک کو نقصان پہنچانے کے درپے ہے اور کشمیری قوم میں انتشار پھیلانا چاہتا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ فضل الحق قریشی کا تحریک آزادی میں اہم کردارادا کیا ہے۔انہوں نے ہمیشہ مسئلہ کشمیر کو کشمیریوں کی امنگوں اور خواہشات کے مطابق حل کرانے کے لئے جدوجہد کی ۔ ظفر اکبر نے کہا کہ ایسے حملوں سے کوئی بھی حریت رہنما تحریک سے پیچھے نہیں ہٹے گا کیونکہ رواں تحریک میں گزشتہ دو دہائیوں سے لاکھوں کشمیریوں نے اپنی زندگیاں نچھاور کیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کل جماعتی حریت کانفرنس مسئلہ کشمیر کا حل پرامن طریقے سے چاہتی ہے جب تک نہ مسئلہ کا بامقصد حل نکل آتا ہے ہم اپنی جدوجہد ہر محاز پر جاری رکھیں گے۔

Zaffar Akber Bhat Paid glowing tributes to Cheif editor Aftab Sanaullah Bhat

A veteran Kashmiri journalist and founder editor of popular Urdu daily 'Aftab', Khawaja Sonaullah Bhat, passed away after a prolonged illness at Soura Hospital in Srinagar. Bhat (87), a bachelor, breathed his last at Sour Institute of Medical Sciences, yesterday where he was admitted on November six.
Bhat started his career in journalism in 1952 from a weekly 'Kashmir' in Azad Kashmir. He started the daily 'Aftab' in 1957.
Fully devoted to his professional life and his daily, Bhat, popularly known as 'Khawaja sahib', introduced the street sale of newspapers.
He had also authored a number of books. Bhat was the first to use offset printing technology for his daily. He also introduced photo-journalism in Kashmir. Various dignitaries have condoled the demise of the veteran journalist, was considered here as 'father of journalism'.
Doctors attending Khwaja said that he was suffering from chronic kidney ailment, coronary artery disease, renal failure, mxyedma, prostrate besides other organ failures. Thousands of people from different shades of life including APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi, Fazal Haq Querishi, Javeed Ahmad Mir, Farooq Ahmad Dar participate in his funeral prayers offered at Lal Chowk, today.

Khwaja Sanaullah Bhat was born on November 14, 1922, in the family of Ahmed Joo Bhat at Chatabal in old city. He passed his matriculation examination from Punjab University’s Lahore Board in 1938. Later he went to Rawalpindi to assist his brother in Kashmir arts business. He couldn’t excel in business as he didn’t like it. To look for better avenues and a job that suited him Khwaja Sanaullah Bhat migrated to Lahore from where he shifted to Bombay where he ran a British Army canteen.
In 1947, Khwaja Bhat went to Lahore and then to Muzaffarabad city of AJK where he was appointed as Settlement Officer. His job was to rehabilitate those people who migrated from Jammu and Kashmir to Azad Kashmir.
Khawja Bhat started his career as journalist in Azad Kashmir’s capital Muzaffarabad wherefrom he published weekly newspaper ‘Kashmir’.
However, he went back to Kashmir valley in 1956. Soon after that he started Aftaab first as weekly and then daily. He filled a vacuum as there was no independent newspaper after Hamdard of Prem Nath Bazaz whose publication was ceased in Kashmir.
Aftaab had many firsts in journalism to its credit. It was the first paper which was printed on offset press. Introduction of hawkers and home delivery of newspapers was also started first by Khawja Bhat in Kashmir.

prominent Kashmiri journalist, Chief-Editor of Srinagar Times, Sofi Ghulam Muhammad, 77, passed away after a , prolonged illness in Srinagar, t after a prolonged illnes, today.Ghulam Mohammad Sofi was Editor-in-Chief of and printer and publisher of popular Urdu daily, Srinagar Times. He breathed his last at Soura Institute of Medical Sciences, where he was undergoing treatment for the past two weeks. He is survived by wife and seven daughters.
His funeral was attended by the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Shabbir Ahmad Dar and a large number of Hurriyet leaders and activists and people belonging to different walks of life. They prayed for peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Sofi who started his journalistic career as a reporter in Congress mouthpiece 'Khidmat' in 1960s launched his own newspaper, Srinagar Times, in 1969. He had been President of Kashmir Press Club and Daily Newspaper Editors Conference a number of times. He also authorised several books.

سینئر حریت رہنما و سربراہ جموں کشمیر سالویشن موومنٹ ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کہا ہے کہ مسئلہ کشمیر ڈیڑھ کروڑ کشمیری عوام کے بنیادی حقوق کا مسئلہ ہے ، بھارت کیخلاف جدوجہد آزادی تب تک جار ی رکھیں گے جب تک مسئلہ کشمیر کا کشمیریوں کی خواہشات اور امنگوں کے مطابق نہ نکلتا۔ اپنے ایک بیان میں انہوں نے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا ہے کہ گزشتہ کئی دہائیوں سے جاری کشمیریوں کی تحریک کو حصول آزادی تک جاری رکھنے کےلئے کسی بھی قربانی سے دریغ نہیں کریں گے۔
شرومنی اکال دل کے پرصدر سمرن جےت سنگھ مان سنگھ کے ساتھ ملاقات میں ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کہا کہ اگر بھارت مسئلہ کشمیر کو حل کرنے کیلئے واقعی مخلص ہے تو اسے مقبوضہ علاقے میں ظلم و ستم کا سلسلہ بند کر کے مذاکرات کی راہ اختیار کرنی چاہئے۔ انہوںنے کہا کہ جب تک کشمیر میں بھارتی فوجیوں کی طرف سے ریاستی دہشت گردی کا سلسلہ ختم نہیں ہوتا مسئلے کے حوالے سے کسی حل کی تلاش کا تصور کرنا ناممکن ہے۔ مسئلہ کشمےر اےک سےاسی مسئلہ ہے اور اس کا حل بھی سےاسی طور پر ہی نکالا جا سکتا ہے لےکن بھارت کی ضد اورہٹ دھرمی کےوجہ سے ےہ مسئلہ طول پکڑرہا ہے ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ بھارت نے کشمیریوں کی آواز دبانے کےلئے ساتھ لاکھ سے زائد فوجی یہاں تعینات کردیئے، عوام پر طرح طرح کے مظالم ڈھائے، لیکن اس کے باوجود بھی وہ کشمیریو ں کے جذبہ آزادی کو کچلنے میں ناکام ہوا ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیریوں نے اپنے جائز حق حق خود ارادیت کےلئے ہر طرح کی قربانیاں پیش کیں، لاکھوں کشمیریوں کے خون سے عبارت اس تحریک سے کسی کو سودے بازی نہیں کرنے دینگے ۔ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کہا کہ مسئلہ کشمیر کشمیری عوام کے حقوق کا مسئلہ ہے ، بھارت اور پاکستان کو اس دیرینہ مسئلے کے حل کےلئے جلد مذاکرات کا آغاز کرنا چائیے اور ان مذاکرات کو کامیاب بنانے کےلئے کشمیری قیادت کو شامل کرنا چایئے تاکہ مسئلہ کشمیر کا دیر پا اور مستقل حل نکالا جاسکے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ تمام حریت پسند قیادت کو چاہئے کہ وہ سر عام میڈیا میں ایک دوسرے کی پگڑی اچھالنے کے بجائے تنقید برائے تعمیر کر کے آپسی اختلافات کو دور کریں ۔قائدین کانفرنسوں ،پروگراموں ،جلسے جلوسوں اور میڈیا کے ذریعے حکومت ہند اور عالمی برادری کو بانت بانت کی بولیوں کے بجائے یکجہتی اور ایک ہی آواز سے اپناپیغام دیںاور اسی ایک آواز کو لیکرسہ فریقی مذاکرات کے ذریعے مسئلہ کشمیر کو حل کرنے کیلئے اندرونی اور بیرونی سطح پر فعال بن کر تگ دو کریں

Chairman Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement , Zaffar Akber Bhat on Friday visited Pakherpora Budgam where dozen of residential house were gutted in a devastating fire , Bhat expressed empathy with the families, who have suffered from the tragedy , he also acquainted them about the policy and programmes of APHC as per the directions of Chairman Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Umer Farooq and ensured them that the mission of martyrs shall be taken to logical conclusion come what may.
Meanwhile Zaffar Akber Bhat offered Friday prayers at historical shrine of Charar-e-Sharief and later on led a massive demonstration against ongoing HR abuses , later on he delivered a lecture to the protesting people and paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of Jammu , who were massacred indiscriminately by Hindu extremists on Nov. 1947 which mostly include women ,children and elderly people .

Peace cannot be established without peaceful solution

APHC leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zaffar Akbar Bhat has said that permanent peace cannot be established without peaceful solution of the long-standing Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions.
APHC leader said that all the three parties to the dispute, Pakistan, India and Kashmiri leadership should be included in talks to resolve the Kashmir dispute.
He urged the government of India to recognize the ground realities and resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations adding that Kashmir was internationally recognized dispute related to Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
JKSM Chairman said that Kashmiris would never compromise on their freedom struggle for which they had been offering supreme sacrifices during last six decades.
He said that neither roads, railways and other facilities here could have any bearing on the liberation movement nor the Kashmir dispute could be resolved by forming puppet administrations in Kashmir.
Zaffar Akbar Bhat, said that India couldn’t suppress the ongoing liberation struggle through the use of brute force. He said that the government of India must realise the ground realities and take serious and solid step for lasting peace in South Asia as the 62 years long Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan could disturb the regional peace.

جموں کشمیر سالویشن موومنٹ نے بھارت کی طرف سے کشمیر میں پری پیڈ موبائل کنکشن بندکرنے کے فیصلے کی شدید مذمت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ بھارتی حکومت کے اس اقدام سے یہ واضح ہوگیا ہے کہ وہ کشمیریوں کو اقتصادی طور پر کمزور کرنا چاہتی ہے۔بھارتی حکومت ایک طرف کشمیریوں کو روز گار فراہم کرنے کے بلند و بانگ دعوے کررہی ہے دوسری طرف روزگار کے حامل افراد سے ملازمتیں چھین کر انہیں معاشی مسائل سے دو چار کررہی ہے جوبھارتی دوغلی پالیسی کا منہ بولتا ثبوت ہے۔
گزشتہ روز سالویشن موومنٹ کے سربراہ ظفر اکبر بٹ نے اپنے ایک بیان میں کہا ہے کہ بھارتی حکومت کی جانب سے پری پیڈ سمیں بند کرنے کا فیصلہ سراسر کشمیری عوام کے ساتھ تعصب پر مبنی ہے ، کشمیر میں پری پیڈ موبائل کنکشن سکیورٹی کےلئے کوئی مسئلہ نہیں کیونکہ پری پیڈ سمیںہو یا پوسٹ پیڈ دونوں کا ریکارڈ محکمہ کیمونکیشن کے پاس محفوظ رہتا ہے ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ بھارت ریاست کے عوام کو معاشی طور پر مفلوج کرنے کے درپے ہے اسلئے ایسے اقدامات کررہی ہے۔انہوں نے کہاکہ مرکزی حکومت کے اس اقدام سے نہ صرف 50 لاکھ سے زائد صارفین موصلاتی سہولیات سے محروم ہونگے بلکہ بیرون ریاست تجارت کرنے والے کشمیری تاجروں کو بھی بھاری مالی نقصان کا سامنا بھی کرنا پڑے گا ۔ظفر اکبر نے کہا کہ پری پیڈ کنکشن پر پابندی سے ایک کے قریب نوجوانوں کا روز گار بھی خطرے میں پڑگیا ہے لہذا بھارتی حکومت کو جدید دور میں عوام کو موصلاتی سہولیات سے محروم کرنے کے اس غیر دانشمندانہ اقدام پر نظر ثانی کرنی چاہیئے ۔ دریں اثنا ظفر بٹ نے گزشتہ روز جموں کشمیر سالویشن موومنٹ کی عوامی رابطہ مہم کے دوران چھانہ پورہ، شنکرپورہ، اور سول لائنز کا دورہ کیا جہاں انہوں نے مختلف عوامی شخصیات سے ملاقاتیں کیں۔

The All Parties Hurriyet Conference has strongly condemned the subjecting to inhuman treatment of schoolboys in Maharjgunj police station in Srinagar by the policemen.
APHC spokesman in a statement described the police act as worse than Guantanamo Bay and Abu Gharaib jails. He said that the police personnel degraded themselves so much that they lost all human values and moral considerations.
The condemnation came in the wake of reports of courtroom testimony by the underage victims, who said that apart from being subjected to physical violence, they had been forced to do such immoral actions, which they felt ashamed to disclose.
A district judge of a court here on Thursday had taken serious notice of the charges against the police and asked its officials to submit a detailed report within ten days.
The statement said that the treatment meted out to the boys, who had been arrested on fake charges, was shameful, immoral and inhuman. It also appealed to the world human rights bodies to take notice of the human rights violations being perpetrated by the occupation forces in Kashmir

Condemning the Zaffar’s house arrest, the Hurriyat termed it unjustifiable and undemocratic step. spokesman of the Hurriyat said such repressive steps by the authorities could not suppress the ongoing freedom movement. “The whole Valley was virtually turned into a police state and Hurriyat leadership placed under house arrest on Wednesday on the arrival of Indian prime minister,” he said.

۔ترجمان نے کہا کہ ہمیں وزیر اعظم ہند یا محترمہ سونیا جی یا کسی اور ہندوستانی لیڈر سے کوئی ذاتی رنجش نہیں ہے بلکہ ہم اپنا وہ حق مانگ رہے ہیں جس کا وعدہ خود بھارت کے پہلے وزیر اعظم آنجہانی جواہر لال نہرو نے 1947 میں کشمیریوں سے لالچوک سرینگر میں کیا تھا اور خود ہی بھارتی حکومت نے اس مسئلے کو اقوام متحدہ کے ادارے سکیورٹی کونسل میں درج کرایا تھا۔آج بھی مسئلہ کشمیر کے حل کے حوالے سے پاس کی گئی 18 قرار دادیں وہاں موجود ہیں ۔ترجمان نے مزید کہا کہ ہم مسئلہ کشمیر کا پُر امن ذریعہ اور مذاکرات سے وہ حل چاہتے ہیں جو مسئلہ کے تینوں فریق ہندوستان ،پاکستان اور بنیادی فریق کشمیریوں کو قابل قبول ہو ۔ سہ فریقی مذاکرات کو کامیاب بنانے کیلئے حکومت ہند کو چاہئے کہ وہ نظر بندوں کی رہائی اورکالے قوانین کے خاتمے کے ساتھ ساتھ کشمیر سے مکمل فوجی انخلاءکی شروعات عمل میں لائیں ۔ پاکستان کے وزیر اعظم سید یوسف رضا گیلانی کے حالیہ بیان کا خیرمقدم کیا جس میں انھوںنے کشمیریوں کی تحریک آزادی کو جائز قراردیتے ہوئے کہا تھا کہ کشمیریوں کی طرف سے حق خود ارادیت کا مطالبہ اقوام متحدہ کی قراردادوں کے عین مطابق ہے اور کوئی بھی ملک انہیں ان کے پیدائشی حق کے حصو ل سے نہیں روک سکتا ۔انھوںنے یوسف رضاگیلانی کی طرف سے کشمیریوں کی سیاسی ، سفارتی اور اخلاقی حمایت رکھنے اور مسئلہ کشمیر کو بین الاقوامی

سالویشن مومنٹ کے سربرراہ اور سرکردہ حریت رہنما ظفر اکبر بٹ کو رامباغ سولنہ کے نزدیک گرفتار کیاگرفتار کیا بٹ دئے گئے پروگرام کے مطابق لالچوک سرینگر میں ایک احتجاجی جلوس کی قیادت کرنے والے تھے سالویشن مومنٹ کے ترجمان نے تنظیم کے سربرراہ اور سرکردہ حریت رہنما جناب ظفر اکبر بٹ کی گرفتاری کی شدید الفاظ میں مذمت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ جناب بٹ صاحب دئے گئے پروگرام کے مطابق لالچوک سرینگر میں ایک احتجاجی جلوس کی قیادت کرنے والے تھے کہ اس دوران جناب ظفر اکبر بٹ کو صدر اور چھانہ پورہ تھانہ سے وابسطہ پولیس کی ایک بھاری جمیعت نے آج صبح کئی ساتھیوں سمیت اس وقت رامباغ سولنہ کے نزدیک گرفتار کیا جب وہ لالچوک کی طرف رواں دواں تھے ۔ ترجمان نے کہا کہ جناب ظفر اکبر بٹ کو گرفتار کرنے کیلئے کل رات 10 بجے سے ہی رہائش گاہ واقع راولپورہ اور باغ مہتاب میں کئی جگہ پر پولیس نے چھاپے ڈالے ۔ترجمان کے مطابق جناب ظفر اکبر بٹ کو 27 اکتوبر 1947 ءمیں جس طرح حکومت ہند نے ایک منصوبہ بند طریقے سے کشمیریوں کی آزادی کو فوجی طاقت کے ذریعے سلب کر لیا گیا اور ا س مظلوم قوم کے جملہ حقوق چھین لئے گئے

تب سے آج تک بنیادی حق مانگنے کے پاداش میں تقریباً 5 لاکھ لوگوں کو شہید کیا گیا کو مہذب عالمی برادری سے یہی مطالبہ کرنا تھا کہ کشمیری عوام سے جو ہندوستان کے پہلے وزیر اعظم آنجہانی پنڈت جواہر لا ل نہرو اور دلی سرکار نے جو وعدے کئے تھے اُن کو پورا کیا جائے ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ اقوام متحدہ اور عالمی برادری نے مسئلہ کشمیر کے حوالے سے UNO میں پاس کئے گئے قرارداد وں کو عملی جامہ پہنانے کی زحمت گوارا نہیں کی اور یہی وجہ ہے کہ جموں کشمیر کے عوام نے اس دن مکمل ہڑتال کر کے پوری دنیا واضع کرنا ہے کہ ہمیں فوجی طاقت کے بل بوتے پر ہندوستان کی غلامی منظور نہیں ۔احتجاج میں مظاہرین کے ہاتھوں جو پلے کارڈ تھے اُن پر ٭ہم کیا چاہتے آزادی ٭انخلاء،انخلاء۔مکمل فوجی انخلاء٭، ۔۔ نظر بندوں کو۔ رہا کرو ٭کالے قوانین کو۔ ختم کرو ٭معصوموں کا قتل عام۔ بند کرو ۔ بند کرو ٭زیرو ٹالرنس ۔ ہائے ہائے اور منظور نہیں منظور نہیں۔دو طرفہ مذاکرات منظور نہیں کے نعرے درج تھے ۔ دریں اثناءترجمان نے وزیر اعظم ہند ڈاکٹرمن موہن سنگھ اور UPA Chairperson محترمہ سونیا گاندی 28 اکتوبرکے دورہ کشمیر کے آمد پر لوگوں سے مکمل ہڑتال کر نے کی اپیل کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ جب تک حکومت ہند اپنے پہلے وزیر اعظم نہرو جی کا کشمیر یوں کے تئیں حق خود ارادیت کا کیا گیا وعدہ پورا نہیں کریں گے تب تک کشمیری ہندوستانی قیادت کے خلاف جائز اور پُر امن طریقے سے اپنا ا حتجاج جاری رکھیں گے ۔

The Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement has urged India to give up obstinacy and take positive steps for the resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspiration of Kashmiri people. The spokesman of the JKSM while expressing satisfaction over the realisation of the international community that the Kashmir dispute needed to be resolved, without any further delay said that the only way of redemption was to provide the people of Kashmir an opportunity to decide their political future, themselves. The spokesman said that settlement of the Kashmir dispute was imperative not only for regional security but for the world peace, as well and stressed the tripartite talks involving Pakistan, India and the genuine leadership of Kashmiri people. The statement also appealed to the international human rights organizations to send their representatives to the Kashmir to take cognisance of the miserable plight of the Kashmiri detainees languishing in different jails and interrogation centers.

کہ وہ کشمیریوں کو معاشی طور پر کمزور کرنا چاہتا ہے۔بھارتی حکومت کشمیریوں کو روز گاراور ملازمتیں چھین کر انہیں معاشی مسائل سے دو چار کررہی ہےان خیالات کا اظہار سالویشن موومنٹ کے سربراہ ظفر اکبر بٹ نے گزشتہ روز یہاں محکمہ کمیونکیشن سے وابستہ افراد کے والدین کے ایک وفد سے ملاقات کے دوران کیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بھارتی وزارت داخلہ کی جانب سے پری پیڈ سمیں بند کرنے کا اعلان سراسر کشمیریوں کے ساتھ تعصب پر مبنی ہے ، مقبوضہ کشمیر میں پری پیڈ موبائل سمیں سکیورٹی کےلئے کوئی مسئلہ نہیں کیونکہ پری پیڈ سمیںہو یا پوسٹ پیڈ دونوں کا ریکارڈ محکمہ کیمونکیشن کے پاس محفوظ رہتا ہے ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ بھارت مقبوضہ ریاست کے عوام کو معاشی طور پر مفلوج کرنے کے درپے ہے اسلئے ایسے اقدامات کررہی ہے، یہ کوئی نیا سلسلہ نہیں ہے اس سے قبل بھی محکمہ ٹرانسپورٹ اور سلک فیکٹری کے ہزاروں ملازمین سے روز گار چھینا گیااور ہزاروں خاندانوں کو مشکلات سے دوچار کیا گیا۔ظفر بٹ نے کہا کہ بھارتی حکومت کی جانب سے ایسے اقدامات اور دوغلی پالیسی ہے ےاد رہے اس وقت مقبوضہ ریاست میں37 لاکھ افراد پری پیڈ سمیں استعمال کررہے ہیں۔ ظفر اکبربٹ نے انڈین پریمیر لیگ میں حصہ لینے والے دو کشمیری کرکٹرز کی بنگلور میں گرفتاری کی شدید مذمت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ بھارت نے کشمیریوں کو بانہال ٹنل تک محدود کررکھا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بیرونی ریاستوں میں تجارت اور تعلیم حاصل کرنے والے کشمیریوں کو بے بنیاد الزامات لگا کر گرفتار کرنے کا سلسلہ جاری ہے ، حالیہ واقعہ سے ثابت ہوگیا کہ بھارت کشمیریوں کو بانہال تک محدود کرکے معاشی طور مفلوج کرنا چاہتا ہے۔

The spokesman of JKSM said that the resolution of Kashmir dispute was in the larger interest of Pakistan and India besides the South Asian region. The statement while welcoming the statements of Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi regarding the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute said, peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations is pre-requisite for cordial relations between India and Pakistan. The statement also thanked the government of Pakistan for its political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiris adding that the Hurriyet leadership was not against the dialogue with India but it wanted meaningful and result-oriented talks and it was possible when India recognised as a disputed territory. Kashmir is a human and political issue and Kashmiri people want honourable and respectable political solution of the Kashmir in accordance to their wishes and aspirations which makes the dialogue process result oriented. Demilitarization, repeal of black laws and release of political prisoners should be done for the fruitful dialogue process, the statement added.

The APHC leaders including ZaffarAkbar Bhat, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Hakim Abdul Rashidand Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi were arrested today while they were on their way to Baramulla town to express solidaritywith the family of the martyred school boy who was killedin police action on Friday in the town.
The delegation led Zaffar Akbar Bhat were arrested at Mirgund area while on their way to Baramulla town to express solidarity with the family of the martyred student.
The leaders were taken into custody at Mirgund near Pattan, a spokesman of the JKSM said that its Party Chairman along with APHC leader were arrested by police on Monday while he was going towards Baramulla to express sympathies with the bereaved family of Irfan Ahmad who was killed after hit by a police teargas shell.
The spokesman in a statement in Srinagar strongly denounced the killing in Baramulla, terming it as the worst example of human rights violations in Kashmir. He urged the International community to intervene and help resolve the Kashmir dispute.
