Police highhandedness in Dooru
Srinagar, July 28: The All Pharmaceutical and Drug Sellers Association Dooru Shahabad in Islamabad has shutdown today to protest against the police high handedness in the town and beating up of a medical practitioner.
Thieves broke into the private medical practioner Ejaz Ahmad Wani of Nadoora shop and stole cash and medicines worth Rs 11,000 while he was away to offer Friday prayers. Police later arrested Javaid Ahmad Wagay of Hiller Shahabad who admitted the crime. However, he was released on unknown grounds on which Wani interfered, but was ruthlessly thrashed by police, said locals. He was shifted to District hospital Islamabad in a critical condition.
The PDSA while observe a complete shutdown demanded replacement of the all the cops posted in police station Dooru.

The Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Zaffar Akbar Bhat profound grief and sorrow over the demise of the mother of prominent pro-movement leader Javaid Ahmad Shalla.
Meanwhile, Zaffar visited the residence of deceased at Baghat Barzullah and sympathized with the bereaved family.
Zaffar also visited the residence of Asrar Mushtaq Dar who was mysteriously murdered .He expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and demanded probe into murder and exemplary punishment to murderers.
Zaffar Akbar Bhat has also condoled the desmises of Hidayat Ullah Banday and Ali Mohhammad Khan of Baghi Mehtab and Ghulam nagar respectively .He expressed the grive over the demise of Fatima Beigh of Chanapora and sympathized with the bereaved family.

  • Srinagar, July 12: The All Parties Hurriyet Conference senior leaders including Zaffar Akbar Bhat and Bilal Ghani Lone were arrested today, in Srinagar and Kupwara districts, four days after APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was put under house arrest on the eve of the Martyrs Day.
    The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement and APHC leader, Zaffar Akbar Bhat was detained along with other JKMS workers at Lal Nagar on the outskirts of the city, while Chairman of People's Conference and hurriyat leader, Bilal Gani Lone, was taken into custody at Handwara.

    Another Hurriyet leader, Ghulam Mohammad Hubbi was also placed under house arrest at his Chrar-e-Sharief residence in Budgam, the sources said. The latest restrictions on the movement of Hurriyet leaders were taken to thwart Lal Chowk March tomorrow, the police sources said.
    "We will not be cowed down by the restrictions. Inshallah; we will assemble at the martyr's graveyard at 11 AM and later take out a peaceful march to Lal Chowk as per the already announced schedule," APHC spokesman told media men in Srinagar.
    July 13 is observed in Kashmir as Martyrs Day to commemorate the martyrdom of 13 Kashmiris who fell to the bullets of the then maharaja's forces outside Srinagar Central jail on the day in 1931.

Sr.Hurriyat leader and Chairman Salvation Movement Zaffar Akbar Bhat lead the demonstration

A demonstration led by Sr.Hurriyat leader and Chairman Salvation Movement Zaffar Akbar Bhat from Dastageer Sahib Sharine, Sarai Bala to Hari Singh Street chowk, protesters were shouting full throat slogans of pro- freedom and against the Shopian, Baramullah ,Kupwara and Maisuma incidents .The demonstration was prevented by the police near H.S.H Chowk and did not allow protestors to go to Lalchowk .The Programme was already shduled by APHC in connection with mass public contact for the success of 13th July Lalchowk programme .On the occusion Zaffar Akbar Bhat while talking to media he condemned the house arrest of Mirwaiz Ummer Farooq and restrictions made by Indian Forces over the prayers.He also appealed the people to ensure their participation on 13th July programme despite of Govt restrictions ,and show solidarity with the Matyar,s of Kashmir who have given scarifies for the freedom of Kashmir.Zaffar early visited Saida Kadel Rainaware and address public gathering and appealed them to make 13th July lalchowk programme successful .

Zaffar lambasts on the role of occupation authorities in Kashmir


Chairman Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement(JKSM) ,Zaffar Akber Bhat on Monday visits Ratnipora and , Kakapora of Pulwama district , in connection with the rape and murder of two young women of Shopian besides as a part mass contact programme . He said that Kashmiris are maimed ,tortured and caged even chastity of our daughters ,mothers and sisters has been –is being tarnished by occupation forces along with their sleuths and urged for the complete demilitarization in all the fours of Jammu Kashmir along the repealing of draconian laws like AFSPA,PSA etc.
“Now honor of Kashmiris is at stakes and naïve people cannot put up with the antipathy whose orchestration is designed in New Delhi as a part of psychological warfare ,” Akbar adds, “The partial appointment of youth through the recruitment agencies like SSRB ,PSC and others : who are having Jammu tilt and it seems that Dogra Raj is still ubiquitous in Kashmir and so- called authorities are guided by Jammu Dogras having communal mindset ,JKSM urges educated youth to rise up on the occasion and protest democratically and peacefully.”
He reiterated that JKSM is never against any dialogue but it should be meaningful respecting the sentiments of common people of Jammu Kashmir because they are the first causality to the dispute .
Zaffar Akber Bhat maintained all the detainees who are languishing in different jails of India and Kashmir must be release unconditionally .

Hurriyat satges a forceful demo`


July 1st ,2009: On the direction of Chairman All Parties Hurriyat conference , Mirwaiz, Molvi Mohammad Umer Farooq, several senior Hurriyat leaders which include , Javaid Ahmad Mir, Zaffar Akber Bhat , Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash ,besides other Hurriyat activists staged a forceful demonstration against raised HR violations in Kashmir in context with Shopian rape and murder which culminated from Hurriyat headquarters and started moving towards UNMOGIP but where beaten-up ruthlessly by occupation forces then lodged in Rajbagh Police station.
