HCBA, JKSM condemns killing

The High Court Bar Association and acting chairman of J&K Salvation Movement has condemned the killing of Ghulam Nabi Mir, uncle of Advocate Hilal Rashid of Pampore.

On October 7, Ghulam Nabi was hit on head by gun butts and beaten to pulp outside his house by a joint party of police and paramilitary CRPF, the Association said. He later succumbed to his injuries at, Soura here on Oct 14. A team of Bar members including Rafiq Joo, Bashir Siddique visited the bereaved family and prayed for the deceased.

Meanwhile, the acting chairman of J&K Salvation Movement, Tufail Altaf Bhat has also condemned the killing. He said, under black laws like AFSPA, the troops were given free hand to commit atrocities in Kashmir and kill civilians

nt will continue, despite all odds.

Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement general secretary Abdul Raouf Khan during a party meeting while condemning the gross human rights violations paid tributes to the martyred Nisar Ahmad Dar and Engineer Tariq Ahmad who got martyrdom during military operations in Kangan on October 1990. They also expressed solidarity with the Hurriyet leader, Mohammad Yousuf Naqah who mother died in Srinagar.

The Acting Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Tufail Altaf Bhat addressing the party workers welcomed the recent statement of the UN Secretary General, Ban-Ki-Moon in which he expressed concern over the situation in Kashmir said that Kashmir was not a border or land issue between India and Pakistan appealed the US President, Barack Obama and the UN General Secretary, Ban-Ki-Moon to take notice of the situation of Kashmir and compel India to take steps in settling for the resolution of Kashmir through tripartite talks.
