Boy killed, another injured in a blast

Srinagar, December 11: An 11-year boy was killed and another was injured in a blast in Mendhar area of Poonch district on Saturday evening. 11-year-old Mohammad Iftikhar, son of Mohammad Lateef was killed and his younger brother, Shokwat Hussain was injured when an explosive device went off near Army’s firing range in Bera Datti area of Mendhar town in Poonch district. The injured youth was rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment.

The duo was searching for scrap at the firing range when they fiddled with an explosive device. “A boy died and another injured in the explosion that was apparently caused by a detonator.
He was rushed to a hospital. Mendhar lies close to the Line of Control (LoC). It is a favourite route where Indian army fired shots and ammunition they carry. Agencies
