chastity in Kashmir
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 19:
Senior Pro-freedom leader and
chief Public relations All Parties Hurriyat conference (M) , Zaffer Akbar Bhat
along with Senior (APHC) leader Javid Ahmad Mir, Bashir Indrabi, Imtiyaz Ahmad
Reshi,Zulfiqar Hamid,Molvi Mushtaq,Molvi Rashid,Nasir Mushtaq,Muzaffer Malik
and other Jammu and Kashmir salvation movement activist and leaders held a
peaceful demonstration at press colony against the price tag of human lives and
chastity of women in Kashmir by the state governed. During the demonstration
they raised high-pitched against the government decision aimed to legalize the
brutalities in the state.
In media interaction, Zaffar
Akber said that it was an irony that the state authorities were encouraging
Indian troops and police personnel to go for custodial killings and rapes
inside the four-walls of torture camps by fixing price tag.
“Now they (authorities) have
fixed a price tag for human life and chastity. Instead of talking about
compensation, the culprits involved in the killing of innocent persons should
be hanged,” he said.
He said that the lives of
common kashmiris and chastity are not the commodities that can be sell and
brought in the market. He said that the decision of issuing rate list for the
lives of people, who are being deprived of their birth right since 1957, should
be eye opener for the world community and they should take cognizance of the
atrocities and brutalities done by the Indian troops in the valley since they
occupied it illegally.
He said that besides draconian
laws, Armed Forces Special Powers Act and Disturbed Areas Act, now rate list is
another licence to the Indian forces to kill the people of Kashmir and dishonor
the Kashmiri women and instead of putting an end to the custodial killings and
rapes by troops and police personnel, the authorities had publicized the rate
list of these crimes.
Zaffer akbar bhat also demanded
disbanding of village defense committees in Jammu and Chenab valley were they
have lashed a reign of terror, he also demand to lift the curfew and restrictions in Kistiwar
as the people were facing acute shortage of essentials like medicines and
ration.
