Addressing a gathering in Toolnawpora area of Kulgam district in
South Kashmir, Senior APHC Leader and Jammu Kashmir salvation
movement Chairman, Zaffer Akbar Bhat said that after India and Pakistan came
into existence in 1947, 1948 Indian Prime minister Jawahar Lal Nehru in
Lalchowk, parliament and through resolutions and all india radio has
promised with Kashmiri Nation that they give people of Jammu and Kashmir a
chance to exercise their birth right ‘right to self determination’ but
unfortunately since then the government of India failed to fulfill its promise
with the people of state.
He said that after the passage of 66 years, India is not
fulfilling the promise for which Kashmiri nation is continuously raising its
voice on political and diplomatic level, However India with its military might
is adopting every kind of repression and is trying to muzzle the genuine voices
of people.
“Killing Kashmiris, enforcing them to disappear, lodging them in
intragration centers and jails as well as hanging Kashmiris continue, still
Kashmiris are fighting for their basic right and have not bowed before India’s
military might.” Zaffer told gathering, adding besides grave human right
violations committed by Indian troops, Kashmiri continue to fight and kept
alive the freedom struggle by their blood.

given sacrifices for economic packages or bringing a change in administration
but they sacrificed their lives for securing right to self determination.

martyrs’ mission.
He said that Machail fake encounter in which Indian army killed
three innocent people Mohmmad Shafi, Shahzad Ahmad Mir and Reyaz Ahmad of

involved in grave human rights violations which they have committed since they
occupied the state illegally.
Zaffer said that Machail fake encounter is not an isolated cases
as the Indian army has killed hunderads of people in fake encounters which
needs to be probed in civil courts rather than in military courts as they have
lost credibility.
