Terming January 05 an important day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, Senior APHC Leader and Jammu and Kashmir salvation movement Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat, while addressing gatherings in Wanipora Baghimehtab and Panderyathen Srinagar, said that incapability of United Nations to implement its resolutions especially the one passed on 5 January 1949- birth right ‘Supporting right to self-determination’ has put the credibility of institution at stake.
“O5 January is an important day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, on this day United Nations passed a resolution signed by India and Pakistan stating that the people of Jammu and Kashmir must be given their birth right ‘right to self - determination’ But after the passage of over 7 decades UN failed to implement it because which not UN but its credibility on stake but the people of Jammu and Kashmir continue to face the barbarism and oppression of India.” Zaffer said, adding this day boosts the morale of People and Pro-freedom leadership of Jammu and Kashmir to continue freedom struggle peacefully till its gets resolved as per the aspirations of people.
On this occasion Zaffer paid rich tributes to martyrs of Machiva including Shaheed Mohd Maqbool Ellahi, Mohd Ismail Bhat, Fayaz Ahmad Ellahi,Mahmood Gani, Majeed Sheikh, Mustaq Ahmad, Manzoor Ahmad, Majeed Magray and Abdul Gani Bhat and said that people of Jammu and Kashmir have given sacrifices only for securing right to self-determination.
Zaffer Akbar Bhat also condemned the assault attack on over 150 male and female Kashmir students of Parihaspora SSM College. He said that students were attacked when they were offering paryers while as female students were abused when they having their dinner.
He condemned the attack on Kashmiri students outside state and appealed Indian civil society to come forward for safeguarding the lives Kashmiri students.
Meanwhile Zaffer expressed grief over the sad demise of mother of Shaheed Mamood, deceased was also mother in law of Shaheed Haji Abdul Gani bhat . Zaffer expressed solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed for the deceased soul. He said that family has given sacrifices for the movement which can’t be underestimated.
Zaffer also expressed sympathy with Dr Tanvir Ahmad whose 8 years old son passed away.
