Kashmiris to continue liberation struggle: Altaf Bhat

APHC AJK Chapter leader and Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Altaf Ahmad Bhat on the eve of Kashmir Solidarity Day has said that the people of Kashmir were struggling for liberation and have rendered matchless sacrifices. Bhat strongly condemning the arrest of APHC leaders including Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Firdous Ahmad Shah said that curbs on the pro-freedom leadership were sheer frustration on the part of Government of India and its authorities. Bhat in a statement said that Kashmiris throughout the world are celebrating February 5, as Solidarity Day it was the result of Kashmiris’ sacrifices and support of Pakistan that Kashmir had become a flash point at regional and global level. He said that the Kashmir dispute was pending for last 62 years but no serious step had been taken for its resolution which brings threat to the peace in the region. He said that the morale of Kashmiris was very high who would continue their righteous struggle till its logical conclusion, despite all odds. He thanked all the peace loving and democratic countries, NGOs and renowned personalities who always not only supported Kashmiris but also put pressure on India to resolve Kashmir dispute in accordance with the’ aspirations of people of Kashmir. APHC leader while condemning the use of indiscriminate force used by police and paramilitary troopers against civilians across the Kashmir Valley urged international human rights bodies to take strong notice of the situation of Kashmir. He also called upon India to read writing on the wall and start meaningful and result-oriented composite dialogue with Pakistan for resolution of Kashmir dispute and also include true representatives of the people of Kashmir in the talks.
